Roberto Clemente is no doubt one of the best players to have played the game of baseball. His example goes beyond that of a great player, it exemplifies the ultimate sacrifice that great humanitarian's give for their beliefs, his life to help others.
His name is recognized and adorns hundreds of public and private institutions throughout this country, his homeland, Puerto Rico and throughout the world.  Thus we create RETIRE 21, a movement that will take the question of retiring Clemente's number to the community and ask everyone that believes that Roberto Clemente's #21 should be retired to sign a petition to that effect.

RETIRE 21 is a movement of interested individuals and organizations that believe that “it's time” that Roberto Clemente's  #21 be retired from Major League Baseball.

 ***************************************************************************

The premiere of " The legacy of 21" was a absolute success! The audience loved it!! and it was well received. We are now in the process of having various premieres in other states such as Puerto Rico, Chicago , Boston and California!

please see the article below for more information :

Legacy of #21: We have initiated the move to bring the film to Puerto Rico and to mount a very aggressive petition drive to Puerto Rico. We have held various meetings and it is slowly, but surely developing interest among the various sectors we have met with.

We have met again with the Clemente family here in PR and though they are not part of the Retire 21 campaign, they support all our efforts.

We are also working on several fronts to have the film shown on a major cable/TV network. Those talks are going well.

We are interested in premiering the film in several other states, especially where there are some Boricuas/Latinos and baseball loving folks. We would like to do a premiere in the following places, so if any of you have a contact, or suggestion to assist us in any of them, please let us know ASAP:

Boston, Hartford, Orlando, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, California, Texas.
